Operations LogbookTM
iLogbook
TM provides electronic logging and incident management. It provides a time-based view of events and association, and can function as a stand-alone electronic logbook or in conjunction with other iWare applications.
iLogbook is designed to improve and replace the paper-based logbooks traditionally used in operator control rooms, technical, and maintenance workshops. Its features and configurability benefit coordinators, supervisors and shift operators. As an electronic logbook, it facilitates the entry of control room information so that more of the information needed can be logged than what is normally put into a paper logbook. It enables a seamless shift handover, accountability transfer, and incoming operator briefing. It enables operators to coordinate operations, engineering and maintenance activities with reporting to keep all advised of progress.
iWare technology also enables shift supervisors and operators to establish relationships between logbook activities and related information like equipment manuals, batch records, incidents and safety procedures. All involved have the same view in real time. The informed team gets it right the first time, and sooner.
Operations Logbook Functionality:
- Retrieve information by keywords, categories, date/time, operator, entry type etc.
- Track operator actions applied to an event or process, showing operator decision making process for shift supervisor and/or trainers.
- Identify corrective actions taken by operators and supervisors and ensure best practices
- Ensure shift-to-shift communication. Operator can make a shift summary report at the end of every shift use to brief incoming operator
- Operator can record comments and observations, like unit environmental issues, near misses, abnormal conditions
- Operator can initiate a maintenance work order.
- Operator can coordinate activities using a “task list” showing scheduled and needed tasks, who is responsible, and the real time status.
- Shows task status and can be used to reallocate tasks for more efficient completion.
- Displays safety, design, process and environmental limits, compared to actual.
- Operators can record observations made while executing plan or following dynamic performance measures.
- Provides standard reports, with the ability to customize the reports using the popular Crystal Reports family of products.
- Connect multiple control rooms across a site
- Increase logbook security (no lost logbooks)
- Improve logbook records/reports and avoid handwritten logs that are difficult to read
- Compare shift information to yesterday, last week, last year
- Permanent storage of historical control room information
- Automatic pager/email notification for appropriate personnel upon critical conditions or assigned events
iLogbook allows the operator to communicate to the shift supervisor his thought process during a startup or an exercise. These logs are also useful to the operator when diagnosing a fault or upset condition that cannot be corrected in the control room by an operator action. Users can schedule notifications and reminders for work elements, and maintenance on individual pieces of equipment using the automatic notification feature.
iLogbook Benefits:
- Enables a rigorous shift handover procedure that ensures the incoming operators see and accept what they need to know
- Operator is enabled to have available information from all needed sources
- Enables operator and electronic entry to provide true record for shift
- Tool to improve reliability and response time of operations and maintenance
- Tool to help team reduce operating and maintenance costs.
- Can help improve asset up time and availability
- An informed team will improve safety and environmental compliance.
- Improves the bottom-line by enabling the team to keep more “on plan”
